Synopsis
A talented young filmmaker tells the story of his country with compassion, beauty, and warmth in this honest, straight and raw first-person account of the war in Gaza in the summer of 2014. Mohamed Jabaly, a young man from Gaza City, joins an ambulance crew as war approaches, looking for his place in a country under siege. While the recurring violence continues to make news worldwide, the stories behind these horrific events remain hidden. Not this one.

Biography
Mohamed Jabaly is a Palestinian filmmaker, producer and artist from Gaza. He holds a BA from Nordland Film & Art College and an MA in Fine Art from Oslo’s National Academy of Arts.
His award-winning documentary work is deeply entwined with the beauty and defiant spirit of his hometown. His multi-award-winning documentary Ambulance (2016) has been shown at some of the world's largest film festivals and has been broadcast globally.
His latest film, Life is Beautiful: A Letter to Gaza, has also received numerous awards, including Best Directing at IDFA 2023 and Best Nordic Documentary at Nordic Panorama 2024, the Grand Prix Award at FIFDH, the International Competition Jury Award for Best Film at One World Festival and the Audience Award at Docville Belgium.
With a deep commitment to the film community and education, Mohamed ran filmmaking workshops for young people in Gaza for a decade before coming to Norway, where he now manages the Twin-city project at Tvibit in Tromsø.
As a driving member of the Palestine Film Institute, Jabaly runs the Palestine Film Hub and has also served on juries for festivals including the IDFA.
